Ask Dr. Nikolovski: When should my daughter visit your office?

Thanks for the question. At Chris Nikolovski, DDS, we believe a child's first visit to the dentist should be enjoyable. Children are not born with a natural fear of the dentist, but they can fear the unknown.

Our Chicago & Hinsdale offices make a special effort to use pleasant, non-frightening, simple words to describe each treatment. Dr. Nikolovski wants you and your child to feel at ease from the moment your family arrives at our office. The more you and your child know about the first visit, the better you will feel.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that kids visit the dentist by their first birthday. It is important that your child's newly-erupted teeth (erupting at 6-12 months of age) receive proper dental care and benefit from proper oral hygiene habits right from the beginning.

Your child's first visit with Dr. Nikolovski includes:

* A review of your complete dental and medical history forms.
* Complete X-rays of your teeth and mouth.
* An oral exam - Dr. Nikolovski will clean and polish your teeth, make sure your teeth and gums are healthy, and check for any cavities or early signs of tooth decay.

Contact our Chicago dental office or our Hinsdale dental office to schedule your complimentary consultation today! Dr. Nikolovski looks forward to working with you and your child.
